El proyecto WOOD4LIFE se organiza en 7 Paquetes de Trabajo (WP), cada uno con objetivos y acciones específicas para alcanzar los resultados esperados.
WP1 - Management and Coordination.
Objectives:
- Ensure the effective implementation of the project.
Key Actions:
- Technical, financial and administrative coordination.
- Progress monitoring.
- Organization of meetings and reporting.
WP2 - Project monitoring and quality assurance.
Objectives:
- Ensure quality of results and risk management.
Key Actions:
- Definition of indicators (KPIs) and monitoring tools.
- Periodic evaluations and reporting.
WP3 - Preparatory Activities
Objectives:
- Establish the technical, economic and social basis for the rest of the work packages.
Key Actions:
- Baseline of ecosystem services in pilot forest intervention areas.
- Characterization of the wood products supply chain.
- Analysis of social and governance arrangements for forest management and their linkages with value chains.
WP4 - Forest management for timber products and sustainable ecosystem services.
Objectives:
- Improve forest management to increase carbon sequestration, protect or restore biodiversity and provide quality timber to produce long-lasting wood products.
Key Actions:
- Design and implementation of forest management activities.
- Monitoring of positive impacts on ecosystem services.
WP5 - Valuation and remuneration of ecosystem services
Objectives:
- Develop tools and methodologies to create sustainable financing mechanisms that align environmental and conservation objectives with economic interests, promoting the long-term health of forest ecosystems while providing mechanisms to engage the private sector in climate change mitigation actions.
Key Actions:
- Creation of a tool for carbon accounting in harvested wood products.
- Development and testing of a timber value chain protocol for climate change mitigation actions.
- Development of combined business and financing models to remunerate stakeholders for the provision of ecosystem services.
WP6 - Sustainability, replication and exploitation of project results
Objectives:
- Ensure continuity and expansion of results.
Key Actions:
- Marketing strategy for business models.
- Promotion of the protocol in other wood-based industries.
- Connecting actors and sectors in the wood value chain.
WP7 - Communication, dissemination and networking
Objectives:
- Maximize the impact of the project through communication and networking.
Key Actions:
- Development of project communication strategy and plan.
- Development of communication channels and materials.
- Targeted communication and outreach and stakeholder engagement.
- Networking activities.
